With Jay out this week, Robbie and Art present a list of gift suggestions in three categories: cheaper, guilty pleasure, mid-range, but more practical, and way-too expensive, extravagant gift.
Note: in most (all?) cases, these are are gifts that Robbie and Art have already received, some as "gifts" to themselves. We offer these as suggestions for that hard-to-buy-for, certain-aged Guy or Gal that may be on your gift list.

Do Two Jays Make a Wright?
Sunday Nov 14, 2021

Once in a while, an actor will emerge from the pack and be all of a sudden, everywhere.
For those in similar viewing circles to The Guys (which may be a circle of three), that actor is currently Jeffrey Wright. Not only is he crossing comic universes with roles in both DC and Marvel creations, he’s also crossing from a voice on a scripted podcast to an animated character. He’s at home in the world of James Bond as well as Dr. Seuss. He’s not made his way into a Star Wars film just yet, but the Force is definitely with him.
Before the break, Robbie shares what Hideaki Anno is up to these days, Jay talks another DC trailer for a sequel bound to amaze us in 2023, and Art Dogg tries to convince us that his brother Snoop has somehow fo shizzled his way into a Storm Trooper uniform.

The Wannabe 150th Episode of GOCA (Dune)
Monday Nov 08, 2021
Monday Nov 08, 2021
What better way to celebrate the Guys’ 150th episode than to visit a practically uninhabitable desert planet!
That’s right, good listeners, it’s been that long. And like B-Art-les and Jay-mes (and Robbie), The Guys thank you for your support. Meanwhile, back in the desert, it’s time to talk Dune. The new movie directed by a gentleman with a name only Art can properly pronounce has been released, and The Guys have … mixed feelings? Listen as they talk actors, compare to previous versions, and discuss climate models.
And if you get that far, you’ll also hear the Geeks of the Week, including a book series made into a tv show, a tv show made with book in the name, and a comic book company that came and went like the sands of Arrakis. It’s Episode 150, and the Spice Guys are back.

Life Sized BatMan

In this week’s episode The Guys use all their senses, except perhaps good sense. Art resumes his updates from the world of DC, with all the new trailers from DC Fandome - a virtual trailer park of movies that will come out sometime before the Dawn of the next Century. (Perhaps that’s what DC stands for?) Robbie is into reading, with a new book unveiling deep background on the setup of the MCU. Jay unveils yet another opportunity to spend money on figurines - that is, if you have several thousand dollars and don’t mind Tom Hiddleston staring at you all day long. And you don’t live in the US.
Okay, so most of the sensing so far is visual, but then they listen! That’s right, kids! Get out your DeCoder rings (imaybe that's what DC stands for?) and gather round the radio - or watch on HBO Max if you sold your radio at a garage sale - it’s time for the Batman Audio Adventures! Seriously, it’s DC’s first scripted poDCast, and The Guys are pretty excited about it. As excited as hearts of a certain age can handle, anyway. Listen as they talk about what they listened to and think you should listen to.

What If...Jay was real?
Monday Oct 25, 2021
Monday Oct 25, 2021
What if The Guys went into space with a bald-headed billionaire? What if Jim Shatner were really a spaceship captain? What if there was yet another Star Wars series or candy corn wasn’t everybody’s favorite Halloween candy?
What if the hosts of this podcast weren’t actually Robbie, Art, and …. What’s his name? What if it’s just Art doing all the voices? This week’s episode asks a lot of “what if” questions and answers virtually none. But The Guys do wax eloquently about the Marvel What If series, talking voices, plot, cohesiveness, favorites…all the things

Jay Reed and the Ten Podcasts

Even if the guys can’t agree how to pronounce Shang Chi, or remember how they said it seven minutes before, they agree on the quality of the movie. At least they think Art will, also, as soon as he sees it. It’s Marvel’s latest addition to the MCU, and The Guys give it Ten Rings.
In the Geeks of the Week segment, Jay returns to the Wonder Years, Art gives an update on Spidey’s rights, and Robbie lets everybody know that they just missed the limited edition toy purchase of a lifetime.

It‘s An Honor To Be Nominated....
Monday Oct 11, 2021
Monday Oct 11, 2021
The Emmy Awards have happened, and it was a big night for the streaming services. Historic, almost. Much like all three Guys being in the same room to record this episode: historic. Did the right shows, actors, directors, and off-screen-but-super-important technical folks win? Listen and The Guys will tell you.
Meanwhile, in Geek-Land, Jay has a big day, because he loves it when all the people come back. Babylon Five has been found again, Robotech and Russell Davies return, and Willy Wonka is getting another weboot.

The One Where Robbie Is Being Toyed With
Monday Oct 04, 2021
Monday Oct 04, 2021
Everybody likes toys, right? Especially the geeks and nerds (and the Guys) that have shelves of superhero figurines (they’re not dolls), Star Wars ships, tricorders from the USS Enterprise, maybe even a vintage Stretch Armstrong. Some are mint in the box, some were played with until the light sabers no longer projected from the arms. (Of the toys, not the Guys…yet.)
In this episode Art and Jay look at how far the figurine fascination has flown, beyond the usual suspects of Kenner and McFarlane, now to Jim Shore, Hallmark, and Precious Moments. Is there a market for this new kind of figurine? Is the niche being saturated? Will the wives of the Guys be getting limited edition Precious Moments Batman figurines for Christmas this year?
Robbie was on the road from the Windy City, but called in his Geek of the Week which probably had something to do with Dr. Who. It’s a safe bet. Listen while dusting your toy shelves.

For The Love of Binging
Sunday Sep 26, 2021
Sunday Sep 26, 2021
Jay is absent once again, citing irreconcilable differences (of work schedule), so Art and Robbie are finally able to get some mic time.
Robbie has a plethora of Geeks this week, including; a look at the Hawkeye trailer, Haley Atwell's giving up Captain Carter's shield for a certain Tomb Raider's backpack, an irreverent look at Batman and the Wayne family, and a version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde with strong Dr. Who connections.
In the second segment, the Guys discuss series they're currently binge-watching. Some are new shows, some not quite so new, and one reaches way back to days when we weren't so hard to please. Hulu and HBO Max are this episode's winning streaming services, so see how the Guys' suggestions stack up.
